In my first year on the world tour, I’ve realised how big the girl’s boards were, including my own, in comparison to the guy’s ones and how it was affecting their surfing, so I’ve designed a board model that was smaller and thinner. The “Leila Alli” board model was one of the first girl’s model specially designed for women to be sold in the international market.

Today, my personal goal is to improve my bodyboarding abilities in bigger and hollower waves and to take my career more towards freesurfing rather than the competitive scene; as freesurfing is where I excell.

Being involved in projects that aim to help women´s bodyboarding to grow around the world was always part of my life. Teaching bodyboarding; spreading the word about our sport by writing articles and being a news correspondent for several web sites and magazines; as well as the women rider´s representative are some examples of my dedication to the sport throughout the years.

Lately, I´ve directed, filmed and edited two women´s only bodyboarding videos ( Spectrum and The Mentawaiis Women´s Bodyboarding Challenge) which I hope are being used as an inspirational tool for young girls around the world to take on bodyboarding.

During the 20 years of my career, I’ve done a lot, travelled the world, seen beautiful things and met beautiful people and I thank God for my life.
